ALCATRAZ - GIVE ME LUV, my 3rd release...
Alcatraz - Give Me Luv (Original Mix)

Alcatraz - Give Me Luv (Intro Mix)

Alcatraz - Give Me Luv (Deep Dish 11th Hour Remix)

Alcatraz - Give Me Luv (2000 Remix)

Original Mix - I think I can say that "Give Me Luv" is my all time favourite track. Even though P.J.'s "Happy Days" (my last release) is pretty close in the rankings, Alcatraz is the definite number one. "Give Me Luv" was released in 1996 and was a huge club-house hit then. At the time, the style of the track was at least original and when I heard it for the first time, I hated it. Ironicaly enough, the song I hated in the beginning has grown to become my all time favourite (309 times on my chart and 21 times at number one). Alright, enough of my yapping. *grins*

Intro Mix - This is just the Original Mix with intro, so it isn't much different from the original version. Apart from the intro there are minor changes in the track but hardly recognizable. Still, I think it's worth to hear how "Give Me Luv" sounds with the introduction.

Deep Dish 11th Hour Remix - Deep Dish have a made a very good hard house remix of "Give Me Luv". It has more power than the original version and seems faster, even though the BPM count is identical (125). Another advantage of the remix is that it's really different than the original (unlike some remixes).

Alcatraz 2000 Remix - In my opinion, nothing will be better than the original version of "Give Me Luv". However this remix would sound pretty good if not for the vocals, that in my opinion ruin the whole image. It's worth downloading for those who liked the original mix.

Re: Hehe,...
...finally managed to download it (can't believe it myself) but it was certainly worth it!!!
No wonder it's your favourite song, Beh :)
Like it a LOT!
What else to tell you? When something's really good you don't need to tell much...it's just good :)
Maybe just one more thing:

Exactly...
...one of the hardest things is to describe something you really like. Glad you enjoyed "Give Me Luv". :) Be sure to check out the remixes, I posted, once you find time (and connection...)

BJ, you asked if Moroder helped out with this...
...track. I found out, he didn't:

Hmm...
Man. It took FOREVER to get rolling. I don't much care for pieces that progress so slowly in adding the new elements. After a minute or so it warmed up, though it's still awfully minimalist through a lot of it (which I suppose is a hallmark of a lot of tech; heavy repetition and slow indroduction of new themes/instruments/ideas, which obviously makes sense given the origin of the genre.)

It strikes me as fairly slow, almost too much so, at least to my ear. Well, not in beats per minute, but that's quite deceptive, depending on what meter it's in and all kinds of other things.

I can see this being a real hit on a dance floor, and I can see how it'd appeal to those who're truly into the genre.. but for tech-lites like me, it's just missing some of the oomph/meat/fat that I like on my music.. It is still worth a listen for me from time to time, and I don't imagine I'll be deleting it. (until my HD is full.)

This is all re: the original mix, BTW.

I know what you mean...
...the original mix is the extended version, that's why it progresses slowly (especially in the beginning). It sometimes even gets on MY nerves (the total fan of the song's nerves that is ;) The edit version is way faster.

As for sound fx, you should like the Intro Mix better in this case. It's an original mix with a very interesting intro, which adds a lot to the beginning.

Glad you enjoyed Alcatraz... and if you're looking for speed, get the Deep Dish Mix. Same BPM as original but appears to be faster :)

Yes, the intro sets it up more nicely...
I'd say that of the mixes posted, that's my favorite. Also, listening to it a few more times has made me like it a bit more, not that I DISliked it, but you know what I mean. With the intro, there's stuff to pique your interest pretty quickly, and then once the real track begins, you're already listening.

That's exactly what I ment...
The intro steals attention in the beginning, so you don't even notice it's 5 minutes long :) The 2nd (vocal) part starts at 5:08.

Have you downloaded all mixes? (That's what I assume after reading the message) If so, how did you like them?

I liked the intro mix.
Very nice. Unfortunatly I won't be downloading songs too often...this one took me almost 3 hours to download. :(

Ohhhhh yaaa!!!
I just loved Give Me Luv :)

It is a great dance number. The rythem really keeps you moving and it has a nice steady beat. I downloaded the original mix.:) When I first listened to it I thought it would be completely an instrumental since it was for much of the beginning and was surprised it did have vocals later in the song. I love it with or without the vocals. :)

If you can't download the original mix...
...go for the Intro Mix. It's the original version + an intro. The 2000 mix isn't exactly a masterpiece and I think it's better to hear the original first.

Did Giorgio Moroder help out with this track?
By any chance? This sounds very familiar to a few remixes of other bands' songs he's done. If you like this sort of stuff, Behemoth, then I've got a few tracks you might be interested in. I don't really like them too much myself but you probably would.

If I only knew...
I'm trying to get the single but there are only about 1000 copies of it on the planet, so it might be a bit hard to find it...

As for the tracks, I'd like to hear'em. When you find time (and connection) please upload them and send me the links.

As for Giorgio Moroder, I have his last single. It's a remix single of "The Chase" (remixed by Jam & Spoon) released as a tribute to him.
