Done a bit of refurnishing here...
Moved the Heroes IV ideas to the Warlords' Caverns, which now are a H3 & 4 forum. This place will in the (I hope, near) future be used for H4 expansion ideas.

I can see that...
This place looks... empty.
So, uhm... I haven't even gotten the game yet so I can't really comment on a expansion. There will probably be a Random Map Generator somewhere along the line. I hope they stick to their promise and release MP in a patch and don't hold on to it for a Exp.

Re: I can see that...
They wouldn't dare hold the multiplayer for the expansion. They'd make their money hunger obvious with that kind of tactics.
And yep, I noticed that too. With the latest expansion in the Polish forums, the English part of the board looks much smaller. I can always revive the Stone Jacuzzi and move the posts back but I thought that since this forum's become a ghost town a long time ago, there was no need for it to exist.

Yep, I can only hope so as well...
I hope they at least be as clever as with H3 and get some money by making "Chronicles", or something similar.
Oh well, I hope they release free MP and that they release a good expansion pack later with RMG and and perhaps most imortantly don't do a "SoD". Two expansion packs wous would be accepteable, but the re-release with lots of people paying full price a second time for a game they already had 95% of, that's just bad work from 3do.

Re: Yep, I can only hope so as well...
I wonder if they include a new town in the expansion. It will be tough to squeeze in a new fraction to the alignment system they created. The only option that comes to my mind is the one stated in the April Fool's joke on heroes.ag.ru - a town based on magic, as opposed to Stronghold's might. Though I have no idea how such a town would function and what creatures could it produce.

I hope they don't try for a new town...
for the reason you state. It's hard to squeeze anything sane into the circle - and I don't want to see another 'flux.
A random map generator and a slew of new maps are safe bets. Probably a new scenario or two. Most likely they'll add more neutral units as well.
I wouldn't mind seeing more creatures to each town. Every town gets one level where they have three units instead of two. The Dead Knights could be a third level 3 option for the necropolis for instance.
They could also add more "Extra Advanced" hero classes. The Arch Mage needs three skills while all other advanced classes consist of two. They could create more hero classes that you get with three skills.
I think those features would be enough to justify it being called an expansion and be sold.

Re: I hope they don't try for a new town...
Good idea with the extra creatures and classes. Especially with the classes. As for the new town: why squeeze a new fraction into the magic system, when you can create a mech based town called (surprise!) The Forge? I wouldn't mind this addition in Heroes IV but I wonder what other fans would think...
