Vampire Lords
aren't they way too powerfull?

I mean look at their stats, a little slow maybe.

But those stats are great stats for a no-retal flyer.

Add to that the fact that it's nearly impossible to loose a single one against wandering stacks because of the life sucking.

They will probably be in H4, but hopefully they'll be a bit weaker. Say 30 hp instead of 40.

Vampire lords are efinetly not too powerful...
when you take into account the type of army they will generally be included in, necromancer. Consider the Vampire Lord to be offset by the drawbacks of the: zombie, wight, and ghost ddragon. Also life drain doesn't work against: gargoyles, golems, elementals, and the undead. One more thing, the vampire lord is more expensive than some lvl 5's.

That's what I ment...
Their ability is well balanced. There's also another balance factor: if you decide to take them to an army other than the Necromancer's you have to bear with the morale losses.

Re: Vampire Lords
Well they may be too powerful when compared one on one with other towns but when you group all of the Necro troops together in one army, they need to be powerful to offset the weakness of the Zombies and Wraiths, not too mention the Ghost Dragons, one of the weakest Level 7 creatures.

Pretty much your big guns are the Power Liches, the Dread Knights and the legions of Skeletons. You toss in the Vampire Lords and the ensemble is complete and makes playing the Necropolis enjoyable for the most part instead of frustrating.

They are indeed powerful...
I defeated an army of 10 Chaos Hydras, 20 Wyvern Monarchs, 30 Mighty Gorgons, 40 Greater Basilisks, 50 Dragon Flies, 60 Lizard Warriors and 70 Gnoll Marauders with only 86 Vamp Lords and 5 Dread Knights. I should add that I only used few of the lvl1 and lvl2 spells and the oposite hero was a beastmaster (with Expert Armorer like everyone of these heroes) with stats equal to mine.

But are they too powerfull?
I'll go as far as saying that they are one of the best solo units out there, if not the best.

With a spell like counterstrike and enough VL's, you'll wade trough stacks like a hot knife trough butter!

Hard to say...
I admit, they are powerful but never really thought of them as too powerful.

They don't die.
I'll say that's powerfull.

If you get about 50 VL, and have a couple of goos spells and a decent hero to back them up you can pretty much take out any stack of creatures. (not elementals, undead, golems or gargoyles tho).

It depends on the force you're fighting with...
You're trying to say that they're too powerful. I won't agree with it. When you are fighting with an army of the same power as yours, VLs can be eliminated quickly if the opponent will concentrate on them.
