Building walls (PL)
Every castle would have a "zone" that could be surrounded by walls (built by the player). They would be normal terrain obstacles. If the wall connects other two terrain obstacles it must have at least one garrison (a place where the wall is crossable). Observation towers could be built on the wall.

great idea...
maybe not a very usefull one since a divided army is easier to destroy, but the option should still be there tho. There is bound to be a few situations where it is usefull.

so, YES.

If a town is situated in a valley...
...the wall would bring additional protection to it, for example.

would the walls have turrets?
that would give some protection.

And I suppose if you have a few leftover stacks in the garrsion you cold send them out to delay the enemy.

Garrisons could have turrets built...
How about being able to "store" a hero in a garrison? Would be a great step in protecting the whole area.

sure,
give the option to garrsion a hero too.

And IMO, give only the 2 side turrets tho. hard to justify the keep.

Would be a terrible job figting thru 3 garrisons to be able to get to the main town *grin*

even with lvl 1 or 2 heroes in each, you'd take losses.

Exactly...
couldn't place the keep in a wall.

As for 3 garrisons, not possible. I wrote above that the wall could be built around a town's influence area (defined by the mapmaker, I think), so there wouldn't be things like multiple walls. The option to built the wall would appear in town halls.

Re: Exactly...
oh, one garrison only?

well, still... would give you the chance to waer your enemy out a bit before he reaches town.

Imagine this situation...
...you have a very powerful town and lots of mines and dwellings in its influence area and the area is surrounded by a wall with one garrison.

You have a high level hero with a good army to protect the town. Where would you place the hero?

The answer is obvious...
