Destroying castles (PL)
After combat, buildings in towns should be destroyed (proportionally to the number of wall part destroyed by the catapult):
- when the castle is completely destroyed, it loses the Fort and 4 random buildings. Creature generators lose production ability for 3 following weeks.
- when there is at least one part of the wall left unharmed, town becomes a Fort and 3 random buildings are destroyed. Creature generators lose production ability for 2 following weeks.
- when there are 4 elements of the wall destroyed, the town becomes a Citadel and loses 2 random buildings. Creature generators lose production ability for the following week.
- when there is at least one element of the wall destroyed but not more than 3, the town level remains Castle but 1 random building is destroyed.
- obviously, when there are no damages to the wall, the town is unharmed.

seems silly...
that catapulting walls should destroy buildings...

I see two other options...

either you go into a town in "raze mode" where your units destroy dweliing insted of attacking the garrison.
(but they then start battle with a "wait")

or that you can aim you catapult into the city instead of the walls. Possibly destroying many structures, possibly none.

I do however agree that if every wallpart is destroyed, the fort should go down a notch.

Imagine...
...you destroy walls, turrets and the main building. I think it's a possibility that some other buildings get damaged in the process.

not with current animations
c'mon... how are going to explain it?

the destruction of the keep caused a small quake and destroyed the mage guld?

*LOL*
Nope... but a catapult rock could fall on it and destroy it.

yes..
but a catapult stone can't tear down a wall and a mage guild with the same shot.

Well nope...
...but when a piece of wall falls down it can fall on the mage guild and destroy it *grins*

IMO
you should be able to raze and sack cities like you could in Warlords 2

Nah...
I don't like this idea... razing makes things too easy. It's the tactic I hated the most in Warlords 3. Although it was useful when the computer had really weak forces that managed to sneak in to your territory, it still makes things way too easy.

I agree...
I'm partially for destroying structures or parts of the city, but not whole cities.

It's just VERY hard to do in reality, even if you have a big army.
