New Spells III (PL)
Freeze
Water Magic, level 5, cost 30, adventure
Freezes an area of water for a period of time, drastically decreasing movement or completely immobilising ships.
Basic: freezes a 5x5 area for 3 days, decreasing movement by 50%
Advanced: freezes a 10x10 area for 5 days, decreasing movement by 75%
Expert: freezes a 20x20 area for 7 days, immobilising ships

Heating (name is a matter of discussion ;)
Fire Magic, level 5, cost 30, adventure
Heatens an area of water for a period of time dealing damage to units.
Basic: heatens a 5x5 area for 3 days, killing 5% of armies every day
Advanced: heatens a 10x10 area for 5 days, killing 10% of armies every day
Expert: heatens a 20x20 area for 7 days, killing 15% of armies every day

The spells above neutralize themselves.

Plague
Earth Magic, level 5, cost 30, adventure
Cast on a certain area, stops resource and creature production on this area for a period of time and decreases army morale.
Basic: plagues a 5x5 area for 3 days, decreases morale by -1
Advanced: plagues a 10x10 area for 5 days, decreases morale by -2
Expert: plagues a 20x20 area for 7 days, decreases morale by -3

Fly
Air Magic, level 4, cost 14, combat
Gives armies an ability to fly over obstacles. Lasts SP days.
Basic: Army can fly above 3 hexes of obstacles
Advanced: Army can fly above 6 hexes of obstacles
Basic: All armies can fly above 6 hexes of obstacles

Earth Portal
Earth Magic, level 4, cost 16, adventure
Allows a hero to transport himself to a location directly below or above him in another map layer.
Basic: the spell requires all movement points
Advanced: the spell requires 75% of movement points
Expert: the spell requires half of the movement points
It must be cast in the beginning of the day, before the hero moves.

hmm...
Freeze:

do you point on a spot of water you wish to freeze, or does the 20 squares in all direction of your ships freeeze?

would be kind of stupid immobilising a pretty good hero of your own for 7 days.


This could work if it was possible to cross the ice by foot tho.


Plague:

Good idea, also make it so that if you cast it near a external dwelling, and the duration lasts till day1, the dwelling is empty next week.


Fly:

lasts "SP days"?

if you mean "SP turns" then OK, and this should not let you fly over walls. (but moats are okay.)

the name could use a tweak since we already have fly, how about hoover?


Earth Portal.

I'd like to add the prequsite that the area you are portaling to must be previously explored.

Freeze...
You point the spot on water (must be explored). Otherwise the spell would be stupid... and not nearly as stupid as heating... heating an area around you would mean killing your own armies.

Fly lasts SP turns of course... stoopid me ;) As for flying above walls, maybe it could be possible on Advanced level?

As for Earth Portal... good idea.

And here is another spell suggestion:

Tunnel (maybe "Burrow"?)

Works like Water Walk, only instead of Water, you can go thru the thick rock walls in the subteranean lair.

Well yeah...
...but there is a tiny problem of the time it takes to dig a tunnel in solid rock compared to the time it takes to levitate above the water surface.

Maybe another name would solve the problem?
